MOVE IN DAY WORKSHEET

WHAT FOLLOWS MIGHT NOT NECESSARILY APPLY TO THE PROPERTY YOU HAVE LEASED. READ IT CAREFULLY.

  1. ELECTRICITY:  YOUR ELECTRIC COMPANY WILL WANT YOUR NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, SSN, PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT OF YOU AND ALL YOUR ROOMMATES, A DEPOSIT AND THE ADDRESS OF THE PROPERTY.   SCHEDULE YOUR TURN ON FOR TWO DAYS BEFORE YOU GET HERE AND WE WILL MAKE SURE THE PLACE IS CLEAN AND TURN ON THE AC/HEAT AND SET THE THERMOSTAT.  SEE THE UTILITY INFO. 
  2. BRING YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE, FIRST MONTH'S RENT, AND DEPOSIT TO THE OFFICE (1325 S. LILLIAN AVE #212) AND SIGN YOUR LEASE.  THIS WILL GO FASTER IF ALL YOUR ROOMMATES COME WITH YOU.  YOU MUST HAVE A SIGNED LEASE TO GET YOUR WATER TURNED ON.  YOU MAY NOT TAKE POSSESSION OF THE PROPERTY UNTIL YOU ESTABLISH YOUR UTILITY ACCOUNTS.  WE WILL NOT GIVE YOU YOUR KEYS WITHOUT YOUR ELECTRICITY ACCOUNT NUMBER AND/OR YOUR WATER DEPOSIT RECEIPT.
  3. GO TO CITY HALL AND SETUP YOUR WATER ACCOUNT MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY 7-6.  SEE THE UTILITY INFO.
  4. COME BACK TO THE OFFICE.  GIVE US YOUR ELECTRICITY ACCOUNT NUMBER AND WATER RECEIPT AND WE WILL GIVE YOU YOUR KEYS.
  5. TELL US IF YOU WILL HAVE A CAR AND/OR BICYCLE ON THE PROPERTY.
  6. CHECK THAT YOUR DOOR, GARAGE REMOTE. AND MAILBOX KEYS WORK
  7. TURN YOUR AC/HEAT ON AND SET THERMOSTAT.
  8. TURN YOUR FRIDGE UP TO FIVE. AFTER 24 HRS ADJUST AS NECESSARY.
  9. TURN ON ALL YOUR CIRCUIT BREAKERS.
  10. TURN ON YOUR WASHING MACHINE WATER VALVES.
  11. TURN ON THE ICEMAKER WATER SHUT OFF VALVE IF YOU WANT ICE.  IT IS BESIDE OR BEHIND THE FRIDGE.  TURN ON YOUR ICEMAKER IF YOU WANT ICE.  THE SWITCH IS IN THE FREEZER ON THE ICEMAKER.  IT IS EASY TO CRUSH THE WATER SUPPLY LINE WHEN PUSHING THE FRIDGE BACK IN.  CHECK FOR LEAKS FOR 24 HOURS.
  12. REPORT ANYTHING NOT WORKING TO THE OFFICE:  
    LOOK AT / FOR:
    1. WATER LEAKS ABOVE AND BELOW THE SINK/S AND TOILET/S.
    2. RUNNING TOILETS.  RUNNING TOILETS MUST BE REPORTED.
    3. CLOGGED DRAINS
    4. SWITCHES,OUTLETS, CEILING FANS AND LIGHT BULBS.
    5. RUN THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL.
    6. RUN THE DISHWASHER THROUGH ONE CYCLE.
    7. DOORS - ROOM, CLOSET AND CABINETS.  DO THEY WORK?  ARE THEY DAMAGED?
    8. WINDOWS: GLASS BROKEN, WON'T OPEN, WON'T STAY UP.
    9. WINDOWS SCREENS: BROKEN / MISSING?
    10. DOOR STOPS BROKEN / MISSING
    11. TOWEL / TP RACKS MISSING / LOOSE
    12. TEST SMOKE ALARMS.  CHECK FOR MISSING BACKUP BATTERIES.  IF THE SMOKE ALARM CHIRPS, THE BATTERY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
